Interested in submitting your writing into a contest?
Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards opens for submissions on September 16, 2013!!!
There are a wide range of categories. English 4, you may be interested in submitting your fictional short stories. There is a category for just that!! You all did so well that I encourage you to seek out awards for your writings. Here is the website on how to submit your work: http://www.artandwriting.org/the-awards/how-to-submit/
You need to set up an account and update your information, along with parent and teacher signatures on the submission forms. I would be more than willing to sit down with any of you after school and work on submissions.
Remember the final step in the writing process is presentation. BE PROUD OF YOUR WORK!

ReplyDeleteScholastic website states "Winning students earn opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication and scholarships." Students are given the opportunity to display their work, possibly publish it, and receive a scholarship. This is not promised, however Scholastic claims "The Awards have encouraged more than 13 million students, recognized over nine million young artists and writers, and made available $25 million in awards and scholarships." It is worth a shot!
